What is a Diva ?

Have you ever wondered what a diva is ?   Sometimes I think I'm a diva.  I know there are times when I act like one.  My friends will say,  "Stop acting like such a diva!" 

Well,  we sometimes do unleash the diva within ourselves.  Women can't help it.  Some men act like divas.  Maybe we are a bit bossy.  Maybe we have a little bit more of an attitude than we should.  Get me this! Get me that!  Go do this! Go do that!  Are you a diva ?

A true diva demands respect and gets it.  They expect nothing less.  But they don't push people around to get it.  A real diva gets what she wants because she's confident.  She knows she has the talent to get her way.   She feels blessed in life and is able to move beyond her past.

The successful diva doesn't let doubt stop her from achieving the goals she has set out for herself in life.  She is compassionate toward others and she isn't mean spirited.  While a diva treats herself like a goddess,  she does know that others have feelings too.  She takes the time to remember her friends and she doesn't mistreat others for the sake of being a diva.

The journey to being a diva isn't easy.  The road is long and hard.  Who were some well known divas ?

Some well known divas were Gloria Swanson,  Greta Garbo, Mae Murray and Theda Bara.  Then of course there were some divas who never achieved top rank stardom and were often over looked,  even in their own time.  They were in the silent films and perhaps never had the chance to shine.  Bessie Love,  Lois Wilson and Betty Compson.

Betty Compson

Betty Compson was a versatile actress who appeared for many types of roles in her day.  She was a silent screen actress.  She received a temporary boost with talkies but it was short lived and she did mostly B films and bits.  However, Betty was a diva and very smart.   She saved her money and opened a store on Hollywood Boulevard and began a second career.

Diva Girls Take to the Streets

For many who don't know whom the Chrome Divas are,  they are a collection of ladies who not only  love their motorcycles but whom do great things!  The Chrome Divas not only have fun,  but they raise donations for charities and causes like helping fight breast cancer.

Their organization originated in Tallahassee Florida in 2002.  It's an all female motorcycle group who strive to be known as good citizens.

I am clearly disappointed at one particular Chrome Diva member, however and she is in this photo:

and  of course will be letting the girls know about her behavior as a diva.   Ms Johnson signed up to be a Chrome Diva and decided to become a part of the Orlando Chapter,  but for some reason has been posting numerous complaints at this link http://www.ripoffreport.com/Search/dee-gerrish.aspx  and this link http://www.ripoffreport.com/Search/goldendoodle-world.aspx  about her sister.  The website claims to be a consumer advocate website for those who have a consumer complaint.  From what I gather,  Ms Johnson didn't make a purchase from her sister and is not a consumer.  Her sister's blogger is at http://dianegerrish2.blogspot.com/  and according to her sister,  Ms Johnson has been harassing her for five years and counting.  It's hard to believe that an older sister would treat their younger sister like that.  It is even harder to believe a sister.......a chrome diva sister...would conduct themselves on the internet like this.

I find the whole conduct unbecoming, first of all,  as a diva and as a sister.   Divas have fun and divas support causes for all women.  A Chrome diva supports women of all colors, races, ages and sizes.  I find it upsetting to see a diva uploading images of their own sister and making slurs about their sister.  It is more disturbing that a diva and a sister would make statements about their children on the internet.  It is uncalled for no matter what the issue may be.  This is not what a Chrome Diva is about.

Jessi Sills was severely injured after having an accident on her motorcycle.  The Chrome Divas were there to offer support to their  sister rider.  Ms Johnson more than likely didn't know Jessi Sills.  Perhaps her intentions were good but her actions on the internet does not build a positive image for herself or other women nor does she follow the mission statement that is set for the Chrome Divas.  Her actions does not give back to the community,  especially the internet community.  Harassment is clearly visible to a normal person reading each posting.  As a diva,  she should be ashamed of herself.  That is not what a Chrome diva is about.

Chrome Divas give back to their communities;  they try to build a positive image.  Ms Johnson's actions clearly do not do this.

I think Ms Johnson should be removed as a diva because her conduct does not reflect the image of what the Chrome Divas is about.
